Water Ring — free browser game

Water Ring is a chain-reaction puzzle played on the calm surface of a pond. Each level seeds the pond with a number of slowly drifting lily pads that bounce gently off the edges. Your only move is one stone: tap anywhere on the pond and a circular ripple expands from the impact point. The ripple grows for a moment, holds its maximum radius, then fades — about a second and a half of life. Any lily pad the ripple touches during that window 'wakes up' and starts spreading its own ripple, which can in turn wake more pads. The cascade ripples outward until every ring has faded. When the pond settles, you count how many pads you managed to wake. To pass the level you need to meet the target shown in the HUD; pass and you advance to a tougher level with more pads and a higher target, fall short and the run ends. Your best level reached is saved in your browser. Strategy: scan the pond loosely and look for clusters of three or four pads close together — drop the stone in the middle of the cluster so the first ripple ignites several pads at once. A wide opening burst makes a long chain far more likely. The pads drift slowly, so you can be patient and wait one or two seconds for a natural cluster to form. Avoid aiming at pads near the wall: half of the ripple sails off the canvas and you only get half the reach.
