Tips and detailed strategy
Yo-Yo is a timing game that revolves around a single hold-and-release axis. The hand at the top of the screen holds the yo-yo by a string; the line below is the string, and the disc at its end is the spinning yo-yo. While you hold Space (or the left mouse button) the string pays out and the yo-yo descends; when you release it the string winds back and the yo-yo climbs up to the hand. The yo-yo has a spin energy shown as the ring around the disc, fading from green through yellow to red as it runs down. Spin drains quickly when the yo-yo is deep, slowly when it is high, and recovers a touch (but never fully) while the string is winding in. Your job is to drop the yo-yo as deep as you can and recall it before the spin reaches zero; every successful catch is a cycle, scores points based on depth, and grants a fresh spin. Pausing at the bottom (a sleeper) multiplies the catch payout — the risk grows, and so does the reward. If the spin ever runs out while the yo-yo isn't already in your hand, the string tangles and the run ends. Each cycle the drain accelerates, so even a constant depth requires tighter timing as you go. Your best score is stored in your browser. Tip: in the opening cycles, don't reach too deep — short, rhythmic press-and-release combos build a multiplier. Higher up, a 0.3–0.5 second sleeper at the bottom unlocks a juicy bonus, but pull the moment the spin ring flashes red; the 'glide' band on the way up is its early warning.
