Tips and detailed strategy
Pitch the Tent is a classic Nikoli-style logic puzzle. Each level shows you an N×N grid with trees scattered in some cells and a row/column count along the edges saying how many tents the row/column must contain. Three rules: (1) every tree is matched with exactly one tent placed in a horizontally or vertically adjacent cell, one-to-one, (2) no two tents may touch — diagonal contact counts as touching, (3) the number of tents in each row and column must equal the edge clues. Left-click an empty cell to place a tent; clicking the same cell again removes it. Right-click (or Shift+click) marks the cell as 'grass' (definitely no tent here) — useful as a deduction aid. Edge counts turn green when satisfied and red when violated. The puzzle is complete when every tree is paired with one tent, the counts match, and no two tents touch. Your time and move count are saved. Press H for a hint (3 per level): it marks one logically forced cell for you. R resets the level, N deals a new puzzle. Strategy: first mark every cell in a row/column whose clue is 0 as grass; then look for trees whose only un-grass neighbour must be a tent; finally use parity arguments on tightly constrained rows.
