Trace the Curve — free browser game

Trace the Curve is a pattern-extrapolation game where you watch a dot ride a hidden mathematical curve, then predict where its trajectory will cross a vertical target line once the visible portion of the path goes dark. Each round a dot enters from the left, moving rightward at a constant horizontal speed; its vertical position follows a secret function (line, parabola, sine wave, damped oscillation, or a combination). For the first few seconds — the visibility window — its path is drawn as a bright trail and the dot is visible. When the window ends the trail fades to grey, the dot disappears, and a vertical TARGET LINE on the right is highlighted. Your job is to predict the y at which the dot will cross that line and click there. The closer your guess to the true crossing, the more points: ±8 px → 100 (perfect), ±20 px → 70, ±50 px → 30, farther → 0. After your guess, the hidden segment animates and the true landing point is revealed. Three consecutive zero-point rounds end the game. Levels get harder — the visibility window shrinks, the target line shifts further right, and the curve grows more complex. R restarts, Space/Enter starts the next round. Tip: the visible portion telegraphs the function type — smooth and symmetric (sine), accelerating one way (parabola), straight (line), decaying (damped wave). Identify the family, then extrapolate from the final visible slope.
