How do I calculate slope?

Slope m = (y₂−y₁)/(x₂−x₁) — the vertical change divided by the horizontal change. For points (1,2) and (4,8): m = (8−2)/(4−1) = 2.

What does a slope of zero or undefined mean?

A slope of 0 is a horizontal line. An undefined (infinite) slope is a vertical line, where x₂ = x₁ and the formula divides by zero.

How is the line equation found?

Once you have the slope m and y-intercept b, the line is y = mx + b. The intercept is b = y₁ − m·x₁.
