2048 — free browser game

Merge tiles on a 4×4 board to reach the 2048 tile. On desktop, use the arrow keys or WASD; on mobile, swipe across the board to slide tiles in that direction. R or the New Game button resets the board. Every move slides every tile as far as it can go in that direction; when two tiles with the same number collide they merge into one tile worth their sum, and each merge adds that amount to your score. A new 2 (occasionally a 4) appears in a random empty cell after each move; your best score is saved in the browser. Creating a 2048 tile triggers the win banner, but you can keep going for 4096 or 8192. The game ends when the board fills up and no neighbouring tiles can merge. Tip: anchor your largest tile in a corner and keep it there by preferring two of the four directions (e.g. only left and down) so big tiles stack up against the corner instead of drifting away.
